“Simple yet distinctive, remarkable, and mindful of the environment”: the project for the construction of Poggio Antico's new winery, designed by Marco Casamonti from Casamonti & Partners, has finally been unveiled.

This marks the second venture in Italy led by Casamonti, a Professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Genoa. He's the creative force behind the acclaimed Antinori Winery in Chianti Classico, which topped the World’s Best Vineyards in 2022. Casamonti’s portfolio extends to numerous acclaimed projects worldwide, notably in Asia, including the Shangri-La Winery in Penglai, China, and the Ba Na Hills Winery in Vietnam.

A boutique design winery on the highest hills of Brunello, with the selection of a highly esteemed professional reaffirming the direction taken in recent years: a perspective of continuous improvement that Poggio Antico steadfastly follows, striving to achieve top-notch standards in both production and customer experience

Pier Giuseppe D’Alessandro, General Manager, shared further insights: «The idea to construct a new cellar stems from two main needs. Firstly, a more “technical” aspect is tied to the refined strategy adopted in managing our operations: a more “precise” method that requires vinifying smaller batches to correlate each of Poggio Antico's units of soil with its own wine. Secondly, there's a need to streamline the process from grape to bottle by implementing a gravity-flow system in the production process. he collaboration with architect Casamonti was a perfect match because he understood our needs and crafted a project that is simple yet distinctive, remarkable, and mindful of the environment. A project that will once again astonish and enhance the splendid territory we call home».
